Agreement Signing Ceremony<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Institute of Science Tokyo held a signing ceremony for two agreements with the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) on March 18 (Tuesday) at the Okoyama Campus, Kuramae Hall (Royal Blue Hall). The agreements were the “Agreement on Collaboration and Cooperation” and the “Agreement on Research Collaboration and Human Resource Development.” On the day of the ceremony, the President of Institute of Science Tokyo, Naoto Ohtake, and the President of AIST, Kazuhiko Ishimura, signed the agreements, officially concluding them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The two institutions (formerly Institute of Science Tokyo) had been collaborating under an agreement signed in March 2015, which included holding an annual conference to discuss ongoing collaboration. However, with the establishment of Tokyo Science University on October 1, 2024, following the integration of Tokyo Institute of Technology and Tokyo Medical and Dental University, a new agreement on collaboration and cooperation was signed. Additionally, an agreement was signed to promote societal implementation through industry-academia collaboration utilizing advanced technologies such as quantum technology, AI technology, and semiconductor technology, and to mutually support human resource development.<\/p>\n\n\n

Commemorative Symposium<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Following the agreement signing ceremony, a commemorative symposium was held to highlight the significance of the two agreements. The symposium aimed to strengthen the connection between basic research and societal implementation, and to build an innovation ecosystem with a focus on fostering young researchers for the next generation. Experts delivered lectures from their respective perspectives on the following theme:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event took place at Kuramae Hall, Kuramae Building (in-person only), with approximately 150 participants in attendance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
