Report on the Agri-Food Health Innovation Forum

Tokyo Institute of Technology Open Innovation Platform held the “Agri-Food Health Innovation Forum” on February 29, 2024 [in cooperation with Greater Tokyo Biocommunity (GTB)].

This forum will discuss and seek future-oriented solutions to various social issues by taking a bird’s eye view of agriculture, food industry, and health industry (agri-food health industry) and utilizing digital twin technologies. For innovation in this field, it is essential to build an innovation ecosystem in which various stakeholders, from producers to consumers, work together. We welcomed speakers from various fields such as industry, academia, government, and finance, and discussed from various perspectives, including recognition of the current situation, sharing of challenges, and raising issues.

The event was held in a hybrid format, combining a digital multi-purpose hall in the West 9 Building on the Ookayama Campus and online streaming, and was attended by about 220 people who engaged in lively discussions. After the lectures, networking was held at the adjacent Tsubame Terrace to deepen the friendship among the participants.

Since this event covered many areas, the number of presentations was too large to allow for in-depth discussions. On the other hand, there were many issues and insights, and I felt that a common momentum was fostered to push agri-food health as a whole forward. We would like to take this opportunity to promote innovation through the establishment of an open innovation ecosystem in agri-food health.

We would like to thank all the participants and all the speakers.
