As of April 2025, I have been seconded from the Japan Patent Office and appointed as Associate Director of the Center for Innovation Management.

Yoichi Oshima – Biography
Yoichi Oshima joined the Japan Patent Office (JPO), Ministry of International Trade and Industry in 1991. From 1991 to 2014, he was mainly engaged in the examination and appeal of semiconductor-related patents at the JPO. In 2014, he obtained a Juris Doctor from the University of Tsukuba Law School. From 2014 to 2017, he served as Director of Strategic Planning Division and Professor at the Center for Innovative Integrated Electronics Systems (CIES) at Tohoku University. In 2018, he was appointed Director of the IoT Promotion Department at the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO). Since July 2019, he has been serving as Chief Creative Manager and Professor at the Open Innovation Platform, Tokyo Institute of Technology. In May 2022, he was appointed Special Advisor to the President, and in February 2023, he became Vice President (in charge of Industry-Academia-Government Collaboration) at Tokyo Tech. Since October 2024, he has held his current position as Vice President (in charge of Industry-Academia-Government Collaboration) and Director of Center of Innovation Management at Institute of Science Tokyo.
