We held the International Open & Closed Strategies Symposium.

The Institute of Science Tokyo and the Center for Innovation Management, with the cooperation of Kyushu Institute of Technology, held the ‘International Open & Closed Strategies Symposium’ on February 3, 2025, at the Marunouchi Building Conference Square (a hybrid event with online streaming).

Due to the amendments made to the Industrial Competitiveness Enhancement Act last June, the ‘Specific New Demand Development Business Activity Plan’ certification aims to enhance the marketability of joint research and development results between companies and universities. This is achieved by formulating and strengthening the use of open & closed strategies that integrate standardization and intellectual property.

At this symposium, stakeholders, including certified companies and universities, gathered to provide the latest information and networking opportunities on these initiatives and related activities, including those from overseas. The event had 172 participants (41 in person and 131 online).
