What is DOIC® (Digital Open Innovation Campus)?
DOIC is a project to build a global ecosystem of open innovation by industry, academia, and government on the occasion of the Osaka-Kansai Expo in 2025. It is a campus where people around the world can share issues, seek solutions, and disseminate results.
In the metaverse provided by DOIC, various digital contents including technological seeds are disseminated to the world, enabling communication anytime, anywhere. Industry, academia, government, municipalities, cultural figures, and citizens can collaborate through DOIC to form an organic network with people around the world.

[May 27 Event] Keeping Food Supply Running in an Era of Energy Instability: The Frontlines of Implementing Plant Factories, Controlled Environment Agriculture, and Energy Efficiency — DOIC Metaverse Tour
The theme of the May DOIC Technology Co-Creation Tour is “Food/Agriculture × Tech.”
From “producing at low cost” to “delivering without disruption.”
The key to stable food supply lies in environmental control and energy design.
Climate change, fluctuating energy prices, and geopolitical risks are making food security no longer just an agricultural issue, but a matter of corporate management and social infrastructure.
This event will focus on plant factories and controlled environment agriculture, bringing together advanced environmental control technologies, energy efficiency, and regional energy utilization from Osaka University and Osaka Metropolitan University to discuss how to realize “uninterrupted production.”
Beyond introducing research and technology seeds, the event will explore the potential for “Japan-originated technologies with global implementation” from the unique perspective of DOIC.
