What is DOIC® (Digital Open Innovation Campus)?
DOIC is a project to build a global ecosystem of open innovation by industry, academia, and government on the occasion of the Osaka-Kansai Expo in 2025. It is a campus where people around the world can share issues, seek solutions, and disseminate results.
In the metaverse provided by DOIC, various digital contents including technological seeds are disseminated to the world, enabling communication anytime, anywhere. Industry, academia, government, municipalities, cultural figures, and citizens can collaborate through DOIC to form an organic network with people around the world.

To mark the opening of EXPO 2025 Osaka, Kansai, the Digital Open Innovation Campus (DOIC) is hosting series of metaverse-based tours focusing on various technological domains. These tours aim to showcase cutting-edge research from universities and public institutions worldwide, fostering collaboration among companies, municipalities, and researchers to build a robust innovation ecosystem.
The upcoming session on Friday, June 6, will spotlight innovations in food, agriculture, and energy. Participants can look forward to engaging discussions and networking opportunities. We warmly invite all interested parties to join us!

Exploring New Frontiers in Food and Energy Security with Japan’s Next-Generation Innovations
Rising fertilizer costs and climate-induced challenges to cultivation environments pose significant threats to food security. In this DOIC Metaverse Tour, part of the global events for EXPO 2025 Osaka-Kansai, we will introduce pioneering technologies such as on-site fertilizer and energy production adjacent to farmlands, highly adaptable superfoods, and proteomics.
